Climbing, Skiing and Snowboarding with IFMGA qualified mountain guide Ric Potter. Adventures from ski touring or splitboarding in the Alps or the Arctic, to making your first rock climbing moves in Snowdonia, or being coached through your first lead climb. I am based in Snowdonia, North Wales but spend most of the winter season in the Alps, based in Chamonix. I offer other trips further afield, so check the site to see what I do, or like RPM Guiding on Facebook for updates and news.
As a mountain guide I have been trained and assessed to the highest level to take people rock climbing, ice climbing or mountaineering anywhere in the World. In Wales we have some great rock climbing, and occasionally winter climbing too, but I also offer guided climbs in the Alps and elsewhere.
In the winter and spring I work as a ski guide, mainly in the Alps, based near Chamonix. I can cater for experienced off piste skiers and beginnners alike, and can offer single days of guiding and multi day trips. As well as guiding in the Alps I run a number of trips elsewhere in the World each season.
I am one of very few guides who guides on a snowboard as well as on ski, and over the last few years have been splitboarding for a number of weeks each winter. Every season I offer intro to splitboarding courses plus trips for splitboarders, and some ski/splitboard trips, in the Alps and elsewhere.
OTHER SKILLS /
As a highly qualified mountain professional, I can offer other skills such as film and television safety, and technical advice for outdoor projects, events and mountain activity providers. I am an experienced trainer and assessor of mountain qualifications, such as the Mountain Leader, International Mountain Leader and Mountaineering Instructor’s Awards. I work regularly as a trainer on the Diploma in Mountain Medicine practical courses, and on the British Mountain Guides training scheme.
